MSU Denver

The transition from high school to college is a big one, but the Access Center offers resources for students, parents/guardians, and high school transition coordinators to help make the processes easier.

Supportive Transition Education Program (STEP)

Our STEP workshop is open to high school juniors and seniors with disabilities, parents/guardians, and high school educators. It takes place each year in the spring.

Our most recent workshop took place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 7p-8p.

STEP Topics for April 6:

Transition for Students with Disabilities: How to Access Disability Support Services in the college setting
Learn about the process of how students register to receive disability accommodations in the college setting and what support services students can expect to receive after registering with the disability office.

Access Center Students & MSU Denver Faculty Panel
Engage in an interactive discussion with current Access Center students and MSU Denver faculty. Students will provide useful tips on how to self-advocate to ensure your needs are met. Faculty will discuss the academic expectations for college students and how students can work with faculty to increase their chances of success.
