Performance evaluations for Metropolitan State University of Denver administrative-staff members are now accessible and open in Workday for the 2022-23 year. They must be completed in the system by June 30.  

Performance-evaluations checklist 

Here are a few action items to get employees started with this year’s performance evaluations. 

  • Read the Performance Management FAQ for lots of performance-evaluation tidbits, including practical information to successfully accomplish evaluations. 
  • Attend a Performance Management Training. There are many resources available to help you with the performance-management process in Workday. 
    • Enroll – June 1. There is still time to attend this Performance Management Workshop (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.). 
    • Sign up for a Performance Management Webinar – search “Workday.” The first one begins Friday. 
    • Visit the Workday Talent Optimization webpage to see what other resources are available. This site can be accessed directly from the Workday website.   
  • Locate your personal performance SMART goals for this past year, which are included in last year’s completed evaluation. You’ll need them to complete your self-evaluation in Workday. 
  • Save the date: Performance Management Open Lab. Time has been scheduled by subject-matter experts to help employees with any questions and/or if they need some technical assistance. Lab time does not need to be scheduled – walk-ins are welcome. 
    • Date: June 7  
    • Time: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  
    • Location: Jordan Student Success Building Room 304  
  • Log in to Workday to start your 2022-23 performance evaluation, beginning with your self-evaluation. Workday will guide you. 
    • Log in to Workday. 
    • View the Awaiting Your Action section to locate your self-evaluation. 
    • Select the Get Started button to begin.  
  • Schedule a meeting with your direct manager to review goals and discuss your performance evaluation. Evaluations must be completed by June 30, so find time between now and then. 
    • If you are new to MSU Denver and have less than six months’ tenure, you do not need to complete an evaluation this year.  
  • Get a head start for the next evaluation cycle and consider goals for 2023-24.  
    • Goal-setting for the next academic year’s evaluation cycle will begin in August. You’ll be reminded in Workday of the next steps. 

Reminders 

Administrative staff members will conduct their performance evaluations in Workday this year. 

  • June 1: Performance evaluations will be accessible in Workday. 
  • June 30: Performance evaluations/reviews must be completed. 

A new leadership-development tool, the leadership-competency framework, will be incorporated into the performance-evaluation process and visible in this year’s evaluation as part of Workday Phase II. It will be piloted over the coming year. NO ACTION on the leadership-competency framework is needed this year.
