About This Program

The minor in psychology at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) prepares students for lifelong learning in the growing field of psychology and complements a wide variety of majors across the entire institution.

Psychology is the science of thoughts, feelings and behavior, and the demand for well-qualified employees trained in psychology is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through the current decade.

Students in the Department of Psychology have the following distinctive opportunities:

  • Benefit from an array of class formats and diverse, experienced faculty, including published authors and researchers, who are eager to provide hands-on advising and dedicated mentoring.
  • Learn in the Plaza, which houses modern accommodations that include a computer lab, observation rooms, state-of-the-art media equipment and meetings spaces.
  • Join student organizations such as Psi Chi, the Research Club, the Developmental Psychology Club, the Clinical and Counseling Club and the Psychology Journal Club.
  • Complete independent research projects under a faculty member’s supervision, and present your work at local, regional and national academic and professional conferences.
