Hi everyone! I’m Sara! I’m a creative person who loves coming up with new ideas and finding fun ways to solve problems, and a person who sometimes makes last-minute plans, but always find a way to get the job done. When I’m not working or studying, you’ll probably find me binge-watching K-dramas, getting way too invested in anime, or hunting for my next favorite coffee shop. I’m always excited to meet new people, try new things, and make great memories. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and having an awesome year together!

Q&A with Sara

What does a typical day look like for you during the semester?
A typical day during the school year usually starts with me going to my in-person classes and then heading to work since I work on campus. One thing I really enjoy about my job is that it allows me to be involved in campus events, so if there’s an event happening, there’s a good chance I’ll be there helping out or participating. After work, I usually do a little studying, but I normally save most of my studying for when I’m at home where I can focus better. I try to balance school, work, and enjoying the campus experience as much as I can.

What brought you to MSU Denver?
What brought me to MSU Denver was the diversity and the resources the school offers. I wanted to be part of a college community where I could meet people from different backgrounds, including people who share similar experiences and come from backgrounds like mine. Being able to connect with others, learn from different perspectives, and have access to resources that support my growth made MSU Denver feel like the right place for me.

What area of business are you most passionate about?
The areas of business I feel most passionate about are management and marketing. I enjoy learning how businesses connect with people, build strong teams, and create strategies that help them grow. I’m interested in the leadership side of management as well as the creativity and communication involved in marketing. I’m still exploring my interests, but these areas stand out to me because they allow me to work with people, solve problems, and bring new ideas to life.

What’s your favorite College of Business memory so far?
My favorite College of Business memories so far have been studying for my accounting class with my classmates and being able to support each other through challenging material. I also enjoy the first days of each semester when I get to meet new people in my classes and connect with classmates from different backgrounds. Those experiences have helped me build relationships and make my college experience more memorable.

What’s one piece of advice for new students? And/or what’s something you wish you knew before college?
One piece of advice I would give to new students is to not hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Always do your best, but don’t focus too much on the outcome. Enjoy the journey and the experiences you gain along the way. It’s okay to fail and make mistakes because those moments help you learn, grow, and become a better version of yourself. College is not just about academics; it’s also about building your college community, meeting new people, and getting involved. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and participate in organizations, events, and activities because those experiences can become some of your most meaningful memories.
