Contact UsThe Department of World Languages offers several language program options. Major in French or Spanish or minor in French, German, Italian, Japanese or Spanish. Interested in becoming a teacher, a bilingual education specialist, or even a translator? We offer that too!
Majoring in a foreign language provides many national and international opportunities, but also meets local student and community needs.
The World Languages Department offers three majors and dual language major options.
If you would like to major in French, you will select the Modern Languages, BA Option I with the French Concentration. This bachelor’s degree program focuses on building proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension and cultural competence.
If you would like to major in Spanish, you will select the Modern Languages, BA Option I with the Spanish Concentration. This bachelor’s degree program focuses on building proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension and cultural competence.
If you would like to study two languages, you will select the Modern Languages, BA Option II.
Students pursuing this option do not need a minor.

If you would like to obtain Colorado licensure for K-12 World Languages, you will select the Modern Languages Major, B.A. with K-12 World Languages Teacher Licensure Concentration.
