The Department of World Languages sponsors two awards.
Nominations by instructors; by selection of the Department, given to one student from French, German and Spanish annually; declared minor or major; with six credit hours of 2000 level completed; 3.25 GPA in language, 3.0 GPA overall; also, candidates may be asked to write a brief essay in English on interest in language and future plans.

By selection of the Department, given to one student majoring in World Languages or Spanish; must be US citizen and Colorado resident; renewable; merit based; degree seeking, 12 credit hours minimum enrollment; 3.0 GPA, junior status; must have a FASFA on file; preference for incoming Freshmen, applicants whose cultural background reflects the language being studied, from a diverse cultural background, with demonstrated community service or volunteer experience and also seeking a teaching license at MSU Denver.
