Day of Giving donors and participants make annual event an unprecedented success.
Since 2017, Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Day of Giving has secured nearly $1.7 million in funding for students and programs, thanks to the support of over 8,700 donors making 9,845 gifts.
In 2025, the University community came out in force during the ninth annual fundraising day to spin the wheel of generosity for student success, raising a record-breaking $403,689. A huge THANK YOU goes out to the more than 1,900 donors who made a gift and the students and staff, faculty, board and Roadrunner community members who participated in and watched the Day of Giving Telethon, visited the Day of Giving Village and played Tetris in the E-Sports Tournament.
Michael Hengst, DMA, professor of Trumpet and Roadrunners Athletics pep-band director, said the benefits of his students performing during the telethon far exceeded expectations. “It was such a fun experience for the students,” he said, “and the financial burden that has been lifted for next year is unbelievable. We’d love to do it again next year!”
Funds raised during Day of Giving provide Roadrunners with access to top-tier academic, athletic and campus programs, scholarships and meaningful wraparound services that prepare them for success before and after graduation.
These are just some of the students and programs impacted by the generosity of 2025 Day of Giving donors.
Over $4,700 was raised for MSU Denver’s award-winning Club Archery team, helping them compete for the third year in a row at the Collegiate Target Nationals.
“Donors who support MSU Denver Club Archery make coaching, equipment and travel much more accessible to college students who want to either learn a new skill and make new friends or take archery to the next level and compete in national tournaments. We are so grateful for their support!” Trinity W., MSU Denver Club Archery President
Each day, hundreds of MSU Denver students access the food resources available at Rowdy’s Corner. Donors raised over $8,700, helping feed the thousands of Roadrunners experiencing food insecurity.
“Many students do not have access to affordable and healthy food. As a student who has not been able to afford food, I know firsthand how important it is to have access to this resource.” Jenna S., junior
The $4,039 raised for the MSU Denver Dance Program helps grow and alter the trajectory of lives by providing scholarship funds for students like Ashley.
“As a child and teenager who often felt lost, dance helped me stay on a solid path in school. Caring teachers taught me respect, discipline, hard work and resilience. Dance is more than just movement – it changes lives.” – Ashley R., Dance major
Donors raised over $31,800 for the Presidential Federal Internship Program, allowing even more MSU Denver students to participate in this life-changing experience.
“The MSU Denver Presidential Federal Internship was an inspiring experience that helped me build confidence to pursue a career in public policy and law. My sincere thanks to the Institute for Public Service and all the program supporters who have made this opportunity possible for me and future Roadrunners.”
Jasmin B., ’23, Presidential Federal Intern
