Dear Roadrunners,

Winter weather is making its way toward Denver. At the time of this publication, snow is in the forecast for Sunday, meaning it’s a great time to refresh yourselves and your teams on Metropolitan State University of Denver’s emergency weather procedures.

What you need to know

Weather-related closure, early-dismissal and late-start decisions are always made collectively and cooperatively by the Auraria Campus institutions and are grounded in concern for campus accessibility and safety.

In the event of a weather-related campus closure, delayed start or early dismissal, Roadrunners will receive a text message and/or email from the RAVE Alert System with instructions. Generally, these decisions are determined before 6 a.m. to give students and employees as much time as possible to adjust their commuting plans and arrange their day.

Information is also disseminated via:

Additionally, announcements are shared with local news stations 9News, CBS4, 7News the Denver Channel and KDVR Fox News31.

Students and employees often have many questions regarding how closures are made and how closures, late starts or early dismissals will impact work, classes and activities, etc. I invite you to:
