Colorado Pre-Law Pathway Partnership

The Colorado Pre-Law Pathway Partnership is a research partnership between the University of Colorado School of Law, the Institute for Public Service, and the MSU Denver Department of Political Science Pre-Law Advising Program. The purpose of this study is to learn more about what causes undergraduate students to go to law school. This study uses a treatment-control methodology to examine social and socio-emotional factors that might affect whether undergraduate students choose law school after graduation.

CPPP Application Now Open to MSU Denver Students

Are you interested in law school? The AccessLex Institute is sponsoring a research study on what causes students to go to law school. We’re recruiting approximately 30 undergraduate students at MSU Denver for a long-term study about a new pre-law pathway program.

This program, the Colorado Pre-Law Pathway Partnership, provides no-cost application support (LSAT prep, et cetera) and monetary stipends, as well as mentoring and a summer experience at CU Law School in Boulder. The summer experience involves six credits of summer coursework at CU Law School (paid for by the study) and an 80-hour summer research experience.

To participate, you must be a current undergraduate student at MSU Denver who expects to graduate in May 2026 or December 2025. We also ask that you have a GPA of at least 2.67 (a “B-”). All of the study’s interventions occur in the 2025 calendar year. During the study and afterwards, we’ll collect information from you through monthly surveys, interviews and focus groups, and journaling.

You may learn more about this study by attending an information session or asking a question. Information sessions will be held remotely on Friday, April 4, at 10 am Mountain, Monday, April 7 at 7 pm Mountain, and Friday, April 11, at 3 pm Mountain. More details on the CPPP (timeline, compensation) are given in the study’s consent form.
