Bio:

Abel Moreno is a full-time, tenured professor and chair of the department of Computer Information Systems (formerly Computer Information Systems and Management Science), with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering (1981), a master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (1988) and a Ph.D. in Engineering (1990). He has served as department chair since 1999. His responsibilities are largely administrative with a teaching expectation of one course per year. His teaching area is Quantitative Methods. His scholarly work focuses on Management Science (DEA applications) and on Information Systems education. His work has appeared in various academic journals, most recently in the Indian Journal of Economics & Business, the International Journal of Global Management Studies Professional, the International Journal of Intercultural and Information Management and Information Systems Education.

Bio:

Janos T Fustos is a tenured professor in the Computer Information Systems Department. He earned his doctorate in engineering management (1993), masters in chemical engineering (1982), and BS in factory operations management (1980) from the University of Veszprem (Hungary).
He is actively involved in service through his role of chairing the ABET accreditation committee in the CIS Department and the AACSB Technology Committee in the School of Business as well as serving on the university-wide committees that determine IT strategies, policies, and procedures.
Janos maintains his AQ status by engaging in professional development activities focused on the impact of technology on training and learning and global aspects of IS education.
He was a co-sponsor of a new interdisciplinary degree proposal related to the health IS area.
He is coordinating the department's efforts to seek re-accreditation from CAC at ABET. 
Last five years he attended 25+ conferences, professional presentations, workshops, and seminars that are related to professional interest areas and accreditation.

Bio:

George Garman earned a Ph.D. in Economics in 1977 and a B.A. in economics and mathematics in 1972. He has been a full-time faculty member in the Computer Information Systems Department since 1991. Immediately prior to coming to MSU Denver, he was a senior systems analyst at Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. He teaches a variety of database courses and occasionally teaches a statistics or management science course. He is a member of various department committees including the Assessment and Continuous Improvement Committee and the Missions and Policies Committee. He serves as the department director of Internships.

Dr. Garman is academically qualified. Some of his professional development activities accomplished during the past five years include published articles in three conference proceedings and one peer reviewed journal article. Dr. Garman serves as a reviewer for academic journals and conferences and also serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Business Research. He keeps current in the information field by attending training days sponsored by the Oracle Corporation and is actively involved in professional associations.

Bio:

Biswadip Ghosh is Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Dr. Ghosh received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Systems from the University of Colorado. He maintains his AQ status by actively engaging in  research projects that have lead to scholarly publications in healthcare information systems, knowledge management, business process outsourcing, ERP and end-user training. His teaching areas are enterprise systems (SAP-ERP), SAP Netweaver portal and development tools, MIS capstone, systems analysis methods and computer networking. Prior to joining MSU-Denver, he had worked in the telecommunications industry with AT&T/Lucent/Avaya for over 19 years on multimedia messaging solutions, global service delivery processes and expert systems in multiple roles such as systems/business analyst, project manager and software architect/developer. His research has been presented and published in AIS, IEEE, ACM and IFIP sponsored conference proceedings and journals such as MIS Quarterly executive, Communications of the AIS, International Journal of Technology Management, IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in BioMedicine, IEEE Networks, and Information Systems Management.

Bio:

Wayne Haga earned his Ph.D. in Applied Statistics in 1998, and also holds a Master’s in Computer Science / Operations Research(1987).  He currently teaches courses in Management Science, Managerial Statistics, Foundations of Information Systems, and Telecommunications and Networking.   Wayne has been deeply involved in curriculum review at various levels for the past 12 years.  Wayne was very active in the CIS department’s successful efforts to seek ABET accreditation.  Research interests include curriculum and project management.

Bio:

Joseph is an Associate Professor in the Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics Department.  Joseph has a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in management information systems, and a PhD in Information Systems.  Joseph is currently active on his department continuous improvement and external relations committees, and the business school assessment of learning committee. Joseph is an active representative for the CIS department in the faculty senate, and currently serves on the Senate Professional Leave Committee and Senate Executive Committee.  Joseph currently teaches courses in information systems and IT Strategy for the MSU Denver MBA program.  Prior to becoming a full-time professor, Joseph worked for five years in the telecom industry and for three years as a data analyst for the US Department of Veterans Affairs.  Joseph regularly attends academic conferences where he presents his scholarly work and publishes in refereed journals.

Bio:

Edgar is an Assistant Professor in the department of Computer Information Systems. He holds a PhD in information sciences and technology from Penn State University.  Dr. Maldonado is active in curriculum committee meetings, the business international business task force subcommittee, as well as the Faculty Senate.  Edgar has experience as a software support engineer for banking networks, with projects in Venezuela, and the Caribbean. Recently, and before joining MSU Denver, he worked at an IT consulting firm in Denver. Edgar is academically qualified. He has published several articles on various journals including the Journal of the Association for Information Systems and many others.

Bio:

Dr. Gerard Morris is a professor in the CIS Department. He has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (1981) and an MBA with a concentration in Information Systems (1984). A sabbatical at the University of Basel in Switzerland in 1998-1999 was followed by the publication of two lab manuals (Windows NT Server and Windows 2000 Server). He has chaired the CIS Curriculum Committee for the last 12 years. He has also chaired the CIS Search Committee twice in recent years. Dr. Morris teaches and coordinates the three upper-division networking courses in the department. He is responsible for the curriculum section of the CIS Department’s ABET Self-Study for the accreditation and re-accreditation processes. Dr. Morris is actively involved in advising students about their degree plans and possible career paths.
Dr. Morris is academically qualified. His professional development activities since 2010 include four peer-reviewed journal articles, and five papers in refereed proceedings, two of which won Meritorious Paper Awards. Dr. Morris has continued his education in his teaching field through technical workshops and seminars (over 53 full days of official technical training, for example Microsoft and Cisco official courses).

Norman E. Pence earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Mineral Economics (Management Science/Operations Research/Statistics) from the Colorado School of Mines in 1986. He is in his 41th year of teaching at the Metropolitan State University of Denver and has taught quantitative courses for most of his tenure. He was also engaged in consulting work during some of those years for the following organizations: Coors Porcelain Company, United States Geological Survey-Branch of Oil and Gas, United States Air Force Accounting and Finance Center, WPX Energy, and Microseismic.

Bio:

Professor Mark Segall holds a Bachelors in chemistry, a Doctorate in Experimental Psychology which included a major emphasis in statistics, and a Master's degree in Information Systems from the University of Colorado Denver. Prior to joining MSU Denver, he worked in industry as a software engineer. Professor Segall developed two new courses over the last 5 years. These include a Data Warehouse course and an Advanced Programming seminar (Variable Topic) which covers programming for Mobile Application development. Dr. Segall has also been active on Department (Curriculum, Search, and Assessment), College (Assessment), University (General Studies) committees. . In consultation with his Department Chair, he includes faculty development through continuing professional education as a means of staying current in the field.
