JSSB HVAC Work

Date/Date Range: March 24 & 25 and back up date of March 28th

Time: from 8am-5pm (HVAC will be on fully at the end of each day)

Location: Jordan Student Success Building 

Description:  MSU Denver Facilities will be working with a contractor to make repairs to the HVAC system at JSSB.  The work will be performed on Monday, March 24^th – Tuesday, March 25^th with a back up day of Friday, March 28^th.  This work will entail shutting down the HVAC for a period of time throughout the day, primarily affecting the 9^th Street wing of the building (Tivoli garage side) on Monday, 3/24, and Tuesday, 3/25, and the Auraria Parkway wing on Tuesday, 3/25.  With a back up date of 3/28.  We have reviewed this with folks from CAVEA and other contacts from the Presidents office and Advancement to ensure alignment of the schedule with their spaces.

Annual Fire Alarm Testing

Date/Date Range: March 24-March 28th

Time: before 7:30 in occupied buildings and anytime in unoccupied buildings

Location: Admin, North Classroom, Plaza, Science, Tivoli

Description: Auraria Life Safety will be performing annual fire alarm testing per the tentative schedule below. Contractors will be verifying fire alarm device function in Auraria managed buildings campus wide. All audible/strobe alarms will cease no later than 7:30am, unless in unoccupied buildings. AHEC Life Safety will escort the contractor or assist directly in the inspection for restricted spaces. Auraria Facilities will evaluate progress mid-week and will update the schedule as needed. If things change they will do our best to communicate as soon as possible.

Auraria Facilities will continue to complete the annual fire alarm testing for other buildings by the end of May 2025. As they get a schedule from the contractor they will communicate this out as soon as possible. These tests will always have alarm and strobes disabled by 7:30am and will not impact operations.

Plaza Building water restored

Location: Plaza Building

Description: Plaza Building water service has been restored as of Feb. 3 following a November water main break.

Restrooms and water are inside the building.

While most classrooms will be available for use as scheduled, several rooms and offices will remain closed due to restoration work:

• Classes originally scheduled in Rooms 125, 126, and 127 have been relocated. The updated locations are reflected on current class schedules.
• The Access Center, normally located in Room 122 will remain in its temporarily location in Modular Office Building 1, near the intersection of Curtis and 7^th streets. Any students who have disability-related accessibility needs can contact the Access Center.

The Health Center continues to provide in-person and telehealth appointments. Please call 303-615-9999 to schedule an appointment or visit  healthcenter1.com for more information regarding services.
