Faculty are the people who teach your classes and some of them advise too! Faculty Advisors:
Virtual drop-in advising is where you can talk one-on-one with an advisor during scheduled drop-in times. Drop-in sessions typically last 10-15 minutes and should be used for quick questions and small requests. During virtual drop-in, advisors will connect with students online for video call appointments (either through Microsoft Teams or Zoom). Your advisor will most likely send you a personalized link when you’re ready to connect.
Pro tip: No appointment is needed, however, there may be a limited number of spots each day. Come early, as advising spots are first come, first served.
An in-person advising appointment is where you can talk one-on-one with an advisor during a pre-scheduled appointment time. Advising appointments typically last 30 minutes and should be used for more in-depth questions and larger requests. During in-person advising appointments, you will connect with your advisor face-to-face in a physical location such as an office, or a meeting or conference room.
Pro tip: Schedule early as appointment times fill up fast.
