With April 15th already known as a potentially stressful day for some, we decided to extend our final deadline for Summer ‘24 Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc) applications to Monday, April 29th. To help out prospective applicants looking to submit a complete application soon, below are some key takeaways from our most recent virtual MPAcc info session:

info session mpacc slide - what is itOur MPAcc degree is 10 courses total (30 credits) made up of 7 core courses, 2 open accounting electives, and 1 experiential learning elective. For non-accounting and non-business majors, there may be 1 – 2 graduate-level pre-requisite courses that are assigned at the time of admission. All curriculum details on our website here.

Inside and outside the classroom, our MPAcc students have various opportunities and support resources to build their network with peers, faculty, alumni, and local professionals. Whether exploring the many avenues of the accounting profession as an aspiring accountant or propelling forward in an already established accounting career, this program is for you!

“The MPAcc program is by far one of the most comprehensive accounting programs out there. My favorite classes were all the tax classes because the research skills you learn are applicable to the profession. Getting my master’s at MSU Denver was one of the best choices I’ve made as it prepared me to successfully obtain my CPA license and become a great tax accountant.”

Applying to graduate school is a big decision. Whether continuing your education straight from your undergraduate degree or going back to school years after graduation, the whole idea of graduate school can feel unattainable.

Hear about one of our new MPAcc students in her 1st term!

Sara started the MPAcc program this January 2024 and hit the ground running. Looking to transition into the accounting profession, she jumped onto C2Hub’s CareerLink and applied for various internship and job opportunities. Even before the February Meet the Firms event, she already had secured an audit internship with CBIZ for Spring 2025. In March, Sara also started a student position with MSU Denver’s accounting services team. Congrats Sara!
