The nomination window for the Soar and Team Roadrunner Awards is now closed. All submissions are being evaluated and will undergo a rigorous evaluation process to identify the next Soar and Team Roadrunner honorees. Stay tuned for more information.
The Roadrunners Who Soar Awards is the University’s pinnacle recognition event, honoring employees at MSU Denver for their contributions throughout the academic year, specifically those high-performing employees who positively impact student and employee success and model the University’s CADRE values – Community, Access, Diversity, Respect and Excellence.

All awards are presented at the Roadrunners Who Soar awards ceremony. Nominators, honorees’ peers and colleagues, as well University leaders, Board of Trustees and other community partners are invited to celebrate awardees for their contributions throughout the academic year, specifically those high-performing employees who positively impact student and employee success and model the University’s CADRE values – Community, Access, Diversity, Respect, Excellence. ::
All teams and employees who embody the CADRE values and foster positive working dynamics can be nominated for a Roadrunners Who Soar Award.
Employees are encouraged to nominate teams and colleagues who model our CADRE values and continually support student achievement through exceptional efforts.
The Roadrunners Who Soar ceremony is held each spring. Nominations for the various awards are typically accepted during the fall semester. Nomination submission forms for the different awards can accessed through each award type.
Earlier this year, Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty and staff members were in full bloom Thursday at the sixth annual Roadrunners Who Soar Awards ceremony, where more than 80 employees were honored for their impact, innovation and dedication to student success. This year’s celebration embraced the theme “Blossoming Excellence: From Seed to Soar” and recognized how MSU Denver employees nurture a flourishing campus culture.

The Team Roadrunner Award is the University’s pinnacle team award and celebrates groups of employees who foster positive professional environments where all members feel supported and valued for their shared and individual contributions.
The Soar Award is the University’s pinnacle individual award and celebrates employees who live and model the CADRE values of Community, Access, Diversity, Respect and Excellence, positively impact student and/or employee success, and more.
These awards honor talented and driven faculty, staff and student-employees. Golich Award winners are shining examples of inclusive leadership at work.
The Distinguished Service Awards were established in 1977 to recognize employees who have provided exceptional service to the Metropolitan State University of Denver community and its mission.
There are a handful of different awards faculty are eligible to receive.
Each month, President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., honors employees who are making an impact through great teaching, service to students or innovation in their respective areas.
