Before we jump into the Spring 2025 term, we want to take a moment and reflect on some of the highlights of what our Accounting Roadrunner Community has been us to this past Fall ’24 term.
In August 2024, we welcomed our largest cohort of new MPAcc students in our New MPAcc Student Orientation! The room was packed and a couple current students and an alum joined us to share their experience and tips for success.
The Accounting Student Organization (ASO) had record attendance at their weekly events, providing various opportunities for current students to connect with local accounting professionals. They also hosted the Fall 2024 ASO Banquet, bringing together our Accounting Roadrunner Community and celebrating the recipients of our accounting scholarships.
We hosted 4 virtual events highlighting different accounting career paths. Featured faculty, alumni, and local professionals shared their stories and insights with students, alumni, and prospective applicants. You can check out a recording of the speaker portions below!
It was an active recruitment season as we tabled across campus, visited our undergraduate classes, and hosted virtual info sessions about our graduate accounting programs. With 3 application cycles each year, we are always looking to connect with prospective applicants. Check out more about our graduate accounting programs today!
Graduate Studies hosted MSU Denver’s 3MT Preliminary Round competition, and Laura Girdner represented the MPAcc program well! She is moving onto the finals in February 2025, now representing MPAcc as a new alum – Congrats Laura & we’ll see you back on campus for the final competition!
5 MPAcc student internal auditors completed their cybersecurity & data governance review and identity governance review. They presented their findings to a packed room of senior leaders.
We honored our departmental outstanding student award recipients at at Fall 2024 College of Business Outstanding Student Awards event. It was great to get together as a College of Business and celebrate over dinner with both of our department of accounting award recipients and their families!
Of course we can’t forget what we are all looking forward to at the end of the term…graduation! From our MBA & MPAcc Hooding Celebration Thursday evening to a packed Colorado Convention Center Friday morning at the Fall 2024 MSU Denver Commencement Ceremony, it was a blast to celebrate this awesome achievement with our graduates and their families.
