Your Online RN to BSN Experience at MSU Denver

You are not starting from scratch. As an experienced nurse, you bring real clinical practice to the virtual classroom, and the online RN to BSN program is built around that.

  • Same faculty, same BSN, nursing specific support – You learn from the same Nursing faculty who teach on campus and graduate with the same CCNE accredited BSN that is approved by the Colorado State Board of Nursing. You also have access to the full set of online student services that on campus Roadrunners receive, from tutoring to library resources to tech support.
  • Coursework that connects directly to your practice – Classes in evidence based practice, informatics and quality, multicultural care, leadership, and population health ask you to apply what you are learning in your current role and care setting, not in hypothetical case studies.
  • Community based practicum you can complete close to home – Two courses include focused project hours in population and community health and a senior capstone. You complete these hours in your own community or workplace, so you do not need to travel to campus to meet practicum requirements while you work.
  • An online format that fits nursing schedules – The RN to BSN curriculum is designed with working nurses in mind. You and your nursing advisor build a plan that fits long shifts, overtime, and family responsibilities, with the option to take a lighter part time path or move more quickly when life allows.
  • Completion focused advising and Success Coaches – A dedicated Nursing advisor and an Online Student Success Coach help you map how your ADN or diploma and RN license apply, plan each term, manage time, and stay on track when life and work get hectic.
  • Online does not mean alone – You will learn alongside other RNs from Colorado and beyond, share experiences from different units and settings, and connect with faculty who understand the realities of today’s healthcare environment. You are fully included in the MSU Denver community, even when you never step on campus.
