Meet Victoria Ruesta!

Hi! My name is Victoria, and I’m a junior majoring in Marketing at MSU Denver.

Q&A with Victoria

What does a typical day look like for you during the semester?
A typical day for me looks like waking up at 6:00 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays to commute to campus, which takes approximately an hour. I attend four in-person classes and then head to my Communications and Marketing internship on campus afterward.

What has your journey at MSU Denver been like?
My journey at MSU Denver has been very positive. This is only my second semester as a transfer student, and I have really enjoyed meeting the kind faculty, staff, and students in the business program, as well as receiving support from the Reisher Scholarship Committee at MSU Denver.

What are you passionate about within business?
I am very passionate about marketing and working for a company that not only uses storytelling to connect with its audience but also makes a positive impact on the community through initiatives such as donations, partnerships, or outreach programs.

What are your future career plans?
My future career plans include possibly pursuing a master’s degree in marketing and working toward a marketing director role at a company.

What clubs, organizations, or events have you enjoyed the most at MSU Denver?
The clubs and organizations that I’ve enjoyed the most this semester are probably the career panels here at MSU. Getting to know different internships and meeting new people by networking.

What advice would you give to new business students?
The advice I would give to new business students is to not be afraid to ask for help. Everyone needs support at times, and seeking help is an important part of being successful.

What’s something that you wish you knew before you started college?
Something I wish I had known before starting college is the importance of getting involved early, whether through clubs, organizations, or taking advantage of available resources.

What’s your favorite thing about being part of the College of Business at MSU Denver?
My favorite part is my Communications and Marketing internship. I love being able to apply what I’ve learned to real marketing projects, and it’s been amazing to connect with supportive faculty and staff who inspire me to grow. This experience has made me even more excited about my future in this career.
