Q&A with Mark
What does a typical day look like for you during the semester?
A typical day for me is going to class and keeping up with schoolwork. I usually meet up with friends in the same program, study together, or talk about our projects. On weekends, when there’s less schoolwork, I spend time with friends outside of school. I just try to balance my school life and social life.
What brought you to MSU Denver?
MSU Denver is a very diverse college that offers a wide range of programs. As an international student, I was looking for a place where I could grow, feel supported, and have real opportunities after college. That’s why MSU Denver felt like the right fit for me.
What area of business are you most passionate about?
I’m passionate about understanding the new ways of marketing, especially how we reach potential markets and grow a digital presence. I want to learn how to effectively use and understand analytics, and how different types of marketing strategies work so I can apply them in real situations.
What’s your favorite College of Business memory so far?
My favorite memory is the first time I presented a business plan. It put real pressure on me because I had to convince my audience, but it pushed me to become more comfortable with presenting and answering questions. I also enjoyed connecting with professors and classmates during that time.
What’s one piece of advice for new students? And/or what’s something you wish you knew before college?
One piece of advice is don’t be afraid to make mistakes and be confident. College is all about learning and figuring out what works for you.
