Dr. Nicole Vowles has a Ph.D. in marketing from Victoria University of Wellington (2007) in New Zealand. She primarily teaches courses in marketing research, social marketing and internship at the undergraduate level. She provides advising for marketing majors and minors. Dr. Vowles is active in service at all levels; of note, she previously led the Graduate Program Committee in the development of the MBA program. Nicole became the Chair of Marketing in August 2017. She is also active in scholarly activities, focusing on adoption of innovations, sustainable consumption, and assessment methods. Before her academic career, Dr. Vowles held a variety of positions in the marketing, consulting, and technology fields.

Sally Baalbaki received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of North Texas in 2012. She teaches courses in areas of marketing principles, consumer behavior, multicultural marketing, brand management, and social media marketing. She also provides academic advice and counseling to students in her discipline. Dr. Baalbaki is active in service at the departmental, school, and university level. Prior to beginning her academic career, Dr. Baalbaki worked in sales as an International Sales Coordinator for a company in Dallas that worked with Dominoes Pizza, and as an Account Executive in the Customer Business Development Department at the distributor company for Procter & Gamble in Beirut, Lebanon.

In 1994, Dr. Angelica Bahl received a Ph.D. in Economics (marketing). Dr. Bahl has more than 33 years of teaching experience at universities in Russia and the U.S. In addition to experience in a variety of teaching skills, Angelica has five years business experience in financial institutions in Russia and the United States, including the position of the Director of Marketing Department of a Commercial Bank; she is a consultant at the World Trade Center in Denver. Since 2012, she has been a visiting professor in universities in India, Mexico, and Russia.

Gregory S. Black (1996 Ph.D. in Business Administration – Marketing Emphasis, Washington State University) is a Professor of Marketing. He has been in this profession for over 20 years and has taught nearly every marketing class in the curriculum, including classes MBA programs and PhD programs. His research interests are related to the portfolio of classes that he teaches. He also conducts research on marketing education and incorporates much of what he discovers in that research into his classroom teaching. He collaborates in his research efforts with everyone in his department, as well as faculty members from other departments and universities. He recently served as the President of the international organization, Marketing Educators' Association, and is still on the Board of Directors. He serves on the Editorial Review Board for several academic journals and has helped the Boys Scouts of America revise several of its merit badge booklets.

Bio:
Professor Chang, Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Missouri-Columbia, has been a marketing educator since 1986. Prior to joining MSU Denver, he worked at General Mills and taught at University of Missouri, Loyola University New Orleans, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, as well as a number of national and private universities in Taiwan. Dr. Chang teaches courses in international marketing, principles of marketing, marketing research, among others. He has provided services to the department, the school, and the university levels, as well as to external organizations and communities. He has helped international scholars with research preparation, served as doctoral dissertation examiners for two universities in India, and served as the editor for an international journal. In addition, Dr. Chang has chaired a number of international conferences and been invited to deliver keynote speeches at international conferences. He was an expert mentor for a new MBA institute in India on a Fulbright grant. Currently, he is a reviewer for the Fulbright foundation.

She joined Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) in 2007 as a marketing manager with extensive business experience at IBM. Her expert qualifications in the marketing discipline are paired with a passion for advancing value based marketing knowledge and the ability to teach from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Clay Daughtrey (1998 Ed.D. Sport Administration) is a Professor of Marketing and serves as the course coordinator for BUS 1850 - Introduction to Business. Prior to this, he served as the College of Business Associate Dean for 6 years, and before that, the Department Chair of Marketing for eight years. He also serves as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Marketing Educators’ Association from 2009 to 2014 and 2018 to present. He also served MEA on the officer's track from 2014-17. In preparation for his academic career, he held numerous positions in the sport and entertainment industry with the Charlotte Coliseum, Disney on Ice, Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, and the Olympics.

Darrin C. Duber-Smith is a senior lecturer at MSU Denver, has a Master of Science-Marketing and an MBA from the University of Colorado-Denver, and has over 30 years of industry marketing and management experience working in variety of industries. He was president of Green Marketing, Inc., a well-known, pioneering consulting firm (2000-2016). He was co-founder of the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS, c. 1999) market concept, was leader of the first U.S. industry task force that helped framed an industry definition and certification of natural products (c. 2005), and was recipient of the Wall Street Journal's Distinguished Professor Award for 2009 and WSJ's 125 Most Influential Professors in 2014. He is active in service at all levels of the university including directing the Open for Business Program and has been the most frequently interviewed marketing expert in the state of Colorado since 2005.

W. Wossen Kassaye (1980 Ph.D. in Business Administration, consumer behavior and multivariate statistics emphasis) is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Marketing. He has been with the College of Business since 1997. He is active in student learning goals assessment activities. He has chaired and co-chaired the department’s PTR committee, Curriculum committee, Assessment committee, and received one-course release time in 2010 to serve as faculty associate for college-wide assessment and evaluation, VP Academic Affairs office. He has received ANBAR Citation for Excellence Award. He has also served as a member of editorial review board, external reviewer and occasional reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. His current research interests include evolutionary strategic marketing management orientation, internet advertising strategies, haggling motives, media habits of Gen-X and Gen-Y. In the main, he teaches marketing strategy and principles of marketing courses.

Ms. April Schofield earned her MBA in 2007 from University of Maryland, University College. She teaches as a full-time, non-tenure-track instructor for the Marketing Department at MSU Denver and is the Associate Director for the Center for Professional Selling. Her professional experience working in marketing and sales for the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and NHL’s Colorado Avalanche has proven valuable as she teaches a variety of classes. She also participates in scholarly activity in her pursuit to be alert to new and innovative trends and remain active in the discipline of marketing.
Intellectual contributions include publications of peer-reviewed journal articles in the Journal of Education for Business (a CBUS preferred outlet) and the Journal of Higher Education Theory and Practice, presentation of peer-reviewed full papers at preferred conferences (Marketing Educators’ Association and Western Decision Sciences Institute), presentation at a conference without a full paper and attainment of professional certifications.
She is involved in professional organizations such as the University Sales Center Alliance, where she serves as chair of the membership committee, and community organizations such as the Boulder Valley School District, Boulder Hockey Club, and a Precious Child
Her role in the Center for Professional Selling requires significant engagement with partner companies and students. She helped the Center host its’ first intercollegiate sales competition and obtain full membership with the University Sales Center Alliance. She also coaches and accompanies student sales teams to role play competitions across the country.
