Spring registration is almost here, and the College of Business (CBUS) is making it easier than ever for students to get ahead. This year, CBUS is tying into the university’s Rowdy Pitstop, a campus-wide initiative encouraging students to check their Degree Progress Report (DPR) to stay on track academically, by adding some fun with Halloweenie and DPR Workshops.
CBUS is also adding a fun new twist this year with Halloweenie: Hotdogs, Advising, and Registration Tricks & Treats! Stop by the Admin Building lobby during the first two days of priority registration:
Monday, October 27 | 11:30 AM–2 PM
Tuesday, October 28 | 11:30 AM–2 PM
Students can grab a hotdog, ask quick advising questions, and get help with registration. Brianny Morrison, CBUS First-Year Outreach & Retention Specialist, will be tabling both days to make sure everyone knows about Halloweenie and can take advantage of priority registration.
To help students navigate their DPR and plan their spring schedules without waiting on an advising appointment, CBUS is hosting two Degree Progress Report Workshops:
Monday, October 27 | 3–4 PM | AD 260B
Tuesday, October 28 | 2–4 PM | AD 260B
These workshops will show students how to read their DPR, which is an essential tool for tracking academic progress. DPRs serve as a roadmap to success and graduation by helping students understand what requirements they’ve completed and what’s still left. Students will also learn how to pull a list of spring courses so they can register early and grab the classes they want. Advisors will also be available, but these sessions give students a chance to get ahead and make sure they get into the classes they need.
Just like scoring early access to concert tickets, registering early gives students the best shot at getting the classes, times, and instructors they want. Don’t risk missing out on required courses or key academic and financial resources!
Priority registration is based on completed credits. Only passing grades and transfer credits count toward students priority. Life happens, and schedules can change. That’s why students can always adjust your classes later. Early registration simply gives students more options and flexibility if they need to make changes before the semester starts.
Remember, “Early Birds have better course options.”
Students – Check your DPR, join a workshop, or stop by Halloweenie, and make sure your spring schedule sets you up for success!
