Bio

Sandra is a folklorist by training who specializes in narrative and the art and aesthetics of everyday life. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Folklore & Mythology from UCLA and her B.A. in Comparative Literature from CSULB. She created the courses GWS/ANT 2400 Women's Folklore & Folklife, GWS 3270 Beauty Cultures, and GWS 3260 Gender, Social Justice & the Personal Narrative. In 2026 she was named MSU Denver's Outstanding Faculty Advisor.
