Research Interests

Rhetorics of Psychedelics, Mysticism, Colonization of the Americas, Political Theology, Literature, Literary Theory, Aesthetics, Ethics, and Composition across different mediums and disciplines. I'm particularly interested in questions about how composed forms in a broad sense relate to ideas of the sacred, citizenship, and human rights. This carries over into my creative work as a musician, which tends to be an experimental environment for my ideas about form. I am interested in communication of affective qualities that transcend the ways we typically think language works.

Teaching Interests

Theory (rhetorical, literary, religious, and aesthetic) in relation to literature, film, and composing across mediums and disciplines; anti-racist pedagogy; political theology; hermeneutics and the ethics of interpretation; poetics and rhetorical criticism; modernism, postmodernism; 20th century music and literature; religious studies.
