Bio
Dr. Kathy Hardin is a certified speech-language pathologist specializing in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other conditions that can happen to the adult brain, like stroke and dementia. As these can be complex conditions, Dr. Hardin works intentionally to simplify clinical principles and research to improve the quality of care for everyone with neurogenic communication disorders. Her inclusive research includes people from many backgrounds on her research team, as we work to increase communication skills and increasing empathy for those living with TBI and their partners. Dr. Hardin enjoys having research students in her CATBIRD Lab: Communication Advances in TBI Rehabilitation delivery. She has been awarded Outstanding Clinical Practice in the State of Colorado, a nominee for the national Louis M. DiCarlo award, and recognized as both Trailblazer and Changemaker by the ASHA Convention for innovative and transformational work in speech-language pathology.
