As the fall semester hits its stride, the Center for Teaching, Learning and Design’s Faculty Learning Community program is up and running. There are several FLCs being facilitated, including Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and Open Educational Resources. And a new FLC will commence shortly: Community Engaged/Service Learning.

To highlight this FLC’s offering and take a dive into the benefits of experiential, community-engaged and service learning for students, faculty, the community and the University, co-facilitators Christina Foust, Ph.D., and Nicole Predki joined the latest episode of “the Roadrunner Exchange” podcast.

During the interview, the guests discussed how experiential, community-engaged and service learning can be defined and what value this approach to pedagogy can bring to faculty members, students and community partners. We also talk about the importance of connecting our classrooms to the city of Denver and the beneficial relationships that come from these partnerships.

Listen to the podcast interview here and learn more about this and other FLCs at the CTLD’s Faculty Learning Community site.
