• Polina Saran, visual storyteller in University Communications and Marketing, received three Emmy nominations. 
  • Diane Yee, director of Campus Recreation, was featured in a National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association story reflecting on her journey to campus recreation and MSU Denver as a Chinese-American woman.  
  • Mark Yoss, director of MSU Denver’s Advanced Manufacturing Sciences Institute, was named Colorado Manufacturing Advocate of the Year at the 2023 Colorado Manufacturing Awards. 
  • Liz Wellington, senior Human Resources business partner, and Rebecca Reid, Innovation and Transformation analyst for Human Resources, presented at the Western Association of College and University Business Officers regarding the Alternative Work Arrangement for MSU Denver staff members. 
  • Miguel Huerta, assistant director of Community Engagement and Programs at MSU Denver, secured an award of $30,000 from the Supplemental Colorado Food Pantry Assistance Grant for Rowdy’s Corner. More updates will be available soon on how this will help support the food pantry. 
  • The MSU Denver Girls Who Code College Loop Chapter was awarded second place in the Spring 2023 College Loops Challenge conducted by the international organization Girls Who Code. This semester, the challenge was centered on the pillar of Bravery. Three students from the Computer Science Department submitted a proof of concept for a mobile application called “Dionysia” focusing on Impostor Syndrome.  
  • MSU Denver hosted University of Pécs faculty members Attila Miseta, rector, and Istvan Tarrosy, director of International Office, in May as a part of the University’s International Cooperation program.
