TRIO Upward Bound is seeking faculty members and community instructors to plan and teach in a six-week college–preparatory program for students in ninth grade through 12th grade. The positions offer instructors an opportunity to develop hands-on, project-based, rigorous content on a topic of their choice while building meaningful relationships with students pursuing higher education.
When: June 20-July 29
Where: Metropolitan State University of Denver campus
Instructor application deadline: May 20
Compensation: Instructors will be paid up to $4,000, including allotted time for program development and lesson-planning.

TRIO Upward Bound creates intentional opportunities for youth to build connections with the campus and faculty members. The program helps high school students, primarily underresourced and first-generation students, become college-ready by building skills and the motivation to complete high school and enter postsecondary education.
Through coursework, job shadowing and internships, and the mentorship of staff members and MSU Denver student mentors, TRIO students build necessary skills and knowledge vital to their success in academia and their professional lives. This exposure to higher education and fields of study also increases participants’ likelihood of continuing their postsecondary education at MSU Denver and other Colorado universities.
