Process Navigation: Students may request support in understanding the process steps, points of contact, and request that a staff member act as a support person in a meeting with faculty or staff if needed
Conflict Coaching: One on one conflict coaching sessions for students to discuss and brainstorm their approach to conflict.
Mediation/Facilitated Conversations: Students, faculty or staff may request facilitation support for a mediated conversation.
Staff/Faculty Consultations: Staff and faculty may request to meet with a Dean of Students Office staff member to discuss the policy.
Investigations: The Dean of Students Office does not conduct any investigations or review evidence related to student complaints that are not directly related to Dean of Students Office related issues.
Decide Resolution: The Dean of Students Office does not have authority to determine the outcome or resolution of any student complaints.
Education: The Dean of Students Office offers training and regular communication to staff and faculty on having difficult conversations with students and on their obligations related to the Student Complaint Process.
Convene the Student Complaint Repository Review Committee: The Dean of Students Office convenes a multi-disciplinary committee annually that review complaints submitted to the Student Complaint Repository (formal complaints) and provides recommendations as necessary related to trending concerns. This is a requirement of accreditation.
