Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
On July 1st 2024, Colorado HB 21-1110, became law. It requires that MSU Denver and all other state agencies, local governments and entities that contract with the state, work to ensure that technology, hardware and software are accessible, per Web Content Accessibility Guidlines 2.1 AA standards.
On July 1st, 2025 the law will take full effect, which includes severe and repeating penalties if accessibilty standards are not met.
In addition a new federal rule under the Americans With Disabilities Act took effect June 24, 2024 with a compliance deadline of April 24, 2026. Like HB 21-1110, it focuses on creating inclusive, user-friendly online environments.
To assist faculty in creating accessible digital materials, Academic Affairs, with the support of the Center for Teaching, Learning and Design, has developed a short online course in Canvas for all faculty members who plan to teach in the upcoming semesters.
