The Accounting Student Organization (ASO) is more than halfway through an exciting spring semester, and the momentum is still going strong. With strong attendance, engaging industry speakers, and consistent opportunities for students to connect with firms, ASO continues to create meaningful experiences for accounting students across campus.

And the semester is not over yet.

ASO still has several upcoming weekly meetings and its signature end-of-semester banquet, offering even more opportunities to network, learn, and explore careers in accounting.

All weekly meetings take place in the Administration Building (near the campus police station) in Room 145 from 4:00–5:00 p.m. These events are casual, welcoming, and open to all students, whether you are there to network, learn, or simply stop by for food and information.

Remaining Spring ASO Meetings

Thursday, April 2 | 4:00–5:00 p.m.
ASO welcomes AAFCPAs for a discussion on Audit Transformation and COCPA EPIC. Students will gain insight into how the audit profession is evolving and what that means for future careers in accounting. As always, free food will be provided, and students are welcome to participate at whatever level feels comfortable, whether that means networking or just stopping in briefly.

Thursday, April 9 | 4:00–5:00 p.m.
ASO will host Eide Bailly, a firm that regularly recruits MSU Denver students, along with guest speaker Doug Cash. Doug will present on forensic accounting, offering a unique look into this specialized and growing field. This is a great opportunity to learn directly from professionals and explore potential career paths within a well-known accounting firm.

Thursday, April 16 | 4:00–5:00 p.m.
ASO will welcome Performance Food Group for a session highlighting the company and its career opportunities. Students can learn more about the organization and explore what accounting roles look like within a large national company. More information can be found at https://pfgc.com/. Free food will be provided, and students are encouraged to drop in even if only for a portion of the event.

Thursday, April 30 | 4:00–5:00 p.m.
The final weekly meeting of the semester will feature Embark and a presentation titled “Leading When You’re Not the Boss.” This session focuses on leadership development and professional growth, with Chick-fil-A provided for attendees. This final meeting is a chance to close out the semester with valuable insight and one more opportunity to connect with industry professionals.

ASO 2026 Spring Banquet: A Semester Celebration

ASO is also excited to host their 2026 Spring Banquet, a signature event celebrating the accomplishments of the semester and the growth of the accounting community.

Friday, April 24, 2026 | 5:30–7:30 p.m. | St. Cajetan’s

This formal event brings together students, faculty, and accounting professionals from a variety of firms for an evening of networking, recognition, and celebration. It is an opportunity to reflect on the success of the semester while also building connections for internships, full-time roles, and future career paths.

Student tickets are free, and the evening will include food, drinks, scholarship opportunities, and additional giveaways.

RSVP through Eventbrite, here.

With several strong events still ahead, ASO continues to offer students valuable access to firms, industry knowledge, and professional development opportunities. Whether you have attended every meeting or are just thinking about stopping by for the first time, there is still time to get involved.

We hope to see you at an upcoming ASO event as the semester continues to build momentum toward a strong finish.

The Accounting Student Organization has immensely helped me with growing into a social butterfly and networking with students and I have made a couple of life-long friends in the process. I started off attending and sitting in the back of the ASO meetings and obtaining as much information as I could and ended up learning more about CPA requirements and other avenues in accounting outside of tax and audit. I am now the President which I would never have imagined my freshman year but here I am.
