On August 16, MSU Denver hosted its first-ever Rowdy Rally, the official convocation and kickoff to the academic year. The event welcomed new students, energized returning Roadrunners, and set the stage for a year of growth and connection.
The day featured Rowdy & Ready, an inspiring Welcome Ceremony with university leaders and keynote alumna Bianca Machado, and the high-energy Roadrunner Carnival.
Rowdy Rally was more than a welcome, it was the start of new journeys, fresh beginnings, and a reminder of the vibrant spirit that defines MSU Denver.

From first-gen students to global learners, here’s a snapshot of who’s joining us this semester:
👉 45% are first-time to college students
👉 30% are transfer students
👉 3.8% are out-of-state students
👉 24 are international students, representing 10 countries 🌍 (Germany, Nepal, Canada, Costa Rica, South Korea, Australia, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Libya)
👉 52% are first-gen, being one of the first in their families to attend college
👉 Most common high schools for first-time students: Cherokee Trail, Eaglecrest, North, Rangeview, and Smoky Hill
👉 Most common transfer schools: Community College of Aurora, Arapahoe Community College, Front Range Community College, Community College of Denver, and Red Rocks Community College

The College of Business presence was strong at the event, giving students a firsthand look at the opportunities available beyond the classroom.
Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE), the professional business fraternity focused on sales, marketing, and management, connected with students interested in building real-world skills, networking, and gaining leadership experience.
The Accounting Student Organization (ASO) shared how students can engage with peers, prepare for professional certifications, and connect with industry professionals.
The FHLTopeka Bank Affordable Housing Institute, was also there to welcome new students and share ways to get involved.
Support comes from MSU Denver’s College of Business, offering flexible programs with real‑world projects and support. Committed to empowering graduates to lead, solve, and inspire.
