Mission and Goals
Learn about the mission and goals of Academic Affairs.
Metropolitan State University of Denver is home to some 17,000 current students and well over 100,000 alumni. The Office of the Provost helps to create and support a relevant and engaging learning and teaching environment for MSU Denver students and faculty. MSU Denver seeks to facilitate access and to ensure success for our students through a student-centered curriculum and a highly qualified faculty, who are dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarly activities, and service.
MSU Denver provides a supportive learning atmosphere for students to pursue their studies, with rich opportunities for interaction with their peers and with their faculty. Students engage in active learning appropriate to their discipline; in doing so, they participate in the exciting process of discovery, and have a chance to learn in experiential and cooperative settings across traditional academic disciplinary boundaries.

The Office of the Provost, under the leadership of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating academic programs, as well as related policies and procedures. It is also responsible for the promotion, tenure, and retention processes, and other faculty related procedures.
