The MSU Denver College of Business and the Department of Accounting proudly celebrated their Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc) graduates during last week’s Hooding Celebration, a meaningful tradition that marks the completion of their graduate studies.

Faculty, family members, and friends gathered to recognize the hard work, resilience, and dedication of our students. The ceremony highlighted not only academic excellence, but also the strong sense of community that defines the CBUS experience.

A Ceremony Marked by Meaningful Connections

This year’s Hooding Celebration featured several memorable moments that underscored the personal journeys behind each degree. Two brothers completed the MBA program together, along with a couple who crossed the stage side by side, one earning an MBA and the other completing the MPAcc program.

MBA students were hooded by Dr. Alex Padilla, while MPAcc students were hooded by Dr. Letitia Pleis.

MBA Program Highlights

The MBA program celebrated 19 Fall 2024 graduates, along with one Summer graduate, bringing the total number of MBA alumni to 204.

Several students earned graduate credentials along with a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics.

MPAcc Program Highlights

The Master of Professional Accountancy program recognized 23 graduates, reaching an impressive milestone of 471 total MPAcc alumni.

This graduating class reflected the strong pipeline from MSU Denver undergraduate programs:

  • 65% of MPAcc graduates are MSU Denver alumni, most with undergraduate degrees in accounting.
  • Additional undergraduate backgrounds included finance, hospitality, and even a theatre and accounting double major.

These diverse academic paths highlight the MPAcc program’s strength in preparing students from a variety of backgrounds for successful careers in accounting.
