Mission

Information Technology Services delivers sustainable, accessible, and innovative technology solutions that help Roadrunners succeed. Led by the CIO and a team of executive-level IT professionals, ITS staff members are distributed among multiple teams, including Application Services, Client Services, Fiscal & Budget Planning, Networking & Infrastructure, and Security & Asset Management.

ITS Leadership Team

Kevin Taylor, Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services

Kevin Taylor is MSU Denver’s Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services. Previously serving as both Interim CIO/AVP of ITS and Director of Application Services, Kevin originally joined ITS Application Services in October 2014, as Associate Director, because he was drawn to the University’s urban location and its focus on student-centered education. Prior to coming to MSU Denver, Kevin served as the Director of Information Technology and CIO at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

 

Nick Pistentis, Deputy Chief Information Officer

Nick Pistentis currently serves as the Deputy Chief Information Officer of Information Technology Services.

Nick earned his Master’s in Information Technology Management from George Washington University, where he subsequently worked for seven years in information technology. He spent four years working for a health care and higher education consulting and technology firm in Washington, D.C. before moving to Denver in 2010. He joined MSU Denver in 2015 as Director of Client Services and served as Interim Director and then Executive Director of Application Services since 2018, focusing on enterprise software solutions that support the campus community.

 

Mike Hart, Chief Information Security Officer and Executive Director of Cybersecurity & Data Assurance

Mike Hart is the Chief Information Security Officer and Executive Director of Cybersecurity & Data Assurance. He joined MSU Denver in 2011, with previous information technology leadership experience in the U.S. Air Force, and the telecommunications, banking, and tolling industries. He earned his B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Regis University.

 

Darius Jack, Director of Network and Infrastructure Services

As Director of Network and Infrastructure Services for Metropolitan State University of Denver, Darius Jack is responsible for providing leadership for planning, organization, and management of the enterprise data centers, networking, and compute/storage infrastructure.

Before joining Metropolitan State University of Denver, Darius held leadership positions in technology infrastructure and data center operations for Barnes Jewish Christian Healthcare, Western Union, and First Data Corporation. Throughout his career he has lead organizations responsible for managing data centers, compute, storage, networks, databases, service desk, and service management. His data center operations responsibilities have included all aspects of data center availability, capacity management, day-to-day operations, governance, and reporting.

Darius holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Columbia College. He is also ITIL V3 certified.

 

Kerry Marble, Director of Business Operations

Kerry Marble serves as the Director of Business Operations for Information Technology Services. In this role, she focuses on financial management, process improvement, expense control, asset management, and human resource administration. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wayne State University specializing in Finance. Throughout her career, she has delivered exceptional results working in fast-paced, dynamic, global business environments. Kerry joined MSU Denver in 2018 as the Fiscal Manager and has served as the Director since 2021.

 

Anna-Liisa Breit (she/her/they/them), Director of Client Services

As Director of Client Services, Anna-Liisa oversees our teams that provide phone and walk-up support at our Service Desk, deployment and repair of client devices, deskside support, client system engineering, and AV support in learning spaces (classrooms and labs). Additionally, she oversees IT service management processes and is ITIL v 4 certified.

Anna-Liisa grew up along the Front Range and has her undergrad degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She joined MSU Denver IT Services in 2017 and has been a manager and associate director within the division.
