A message from President Davidson

March 23, 2021

Dear Roadrunners,

I am writing you once again heartbroken over violence inflicted in our country, this time right in our backyard in Boulder. I am saddened by the tragic loss of life and offer my deepest condolences to the families and friends of those lost in yesterday’s shootings.

I know some of our students, faculty members and staff members live in or near Boulder, and I spent my undergrad years living there myself. We stand in solidarity today with our neighbors and the Boulder community.

Many of us have also been affected by violence personally or in our communities and are still reeling from previous tragedies. In times like these, we often question what we can do about this fundamentally broken facet of our society that results in tragedy after tragedy in our schools, theaters and grocery stores.

I encourage those grieving today to reach out to the Counseling Center (303-615-9988) or the Student Care Center (303-615-0006). You can also contact MSU Denver’s CARE Team if you are concerned about the behavior or well-being of a student within the University community.

Please continue to lift each other up during these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Janine Davidson, Ph.D.

President, MSU Denver
