Dear Roadrunner staff and faculty,

I’m writing to thank everyone for transitioning to remote work as of yesterday at noon. Today, the large majority of our community is fully operational online. I recognize that information and updates have been coming often and changing quickly as we’ve responded to this unfolding situation. I appreciate your adaptability in these truly unprecedented days.

As you know by now, we found out yesterday that one of our employees tested positive for COVID-19. First and foremost, I want to wish that member of our community the best as they recover, and take comfort in knowing they are already feeling better. I also understand that the first case on campus may leave people feeling concerned. Please know that those who have been in relevant contact with the person have already been notified and are being advised by health officials. We will continue to take all necessary precautions to keep our community healthy and safe.

That will start with a deep cleaning of our buildings and neighborhood on the Auraria Campus. Once that is complete, the buildings should re-open with key-card access on Monday for those who may have left something essential behind. The Auraria Higher Education Center will continue to distribute mail to on-campus boxes until they’re full, then they will hold mail until it is safe to distribute. Please stay connected and be well. We will be in touch soon with more updates, which we are also posting on the University’s COVID-19 website.

Amid these new challenges, I have been inspired by how our community has come together and I am so proud of how you continue to look out for each other.

Sincerely,

Janine Davidson, Ph.D.
President
