Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
Dear Roadrunners,
After nine years of working alongside you to move MSU Denver forward, I will be taking a short sabbatical this July and August. During that time, Vice President for Finance and Administration Jim Carpenter will serve as acting president.
Being president requires constant operational focus. This sabbatical will provide time to step back and focus on the long-term future of higher education and MSU Denver’s role within it.
“Leadership requires both momentum and reflection,” said Board of Trustees Chair Jerry Glick. “This sabbatical allows space for the deeper, strategic thinking that ensures MSU Denver remains bold and future focused.”
MSU Denver is in a strong position, and our work will continue without disruption. Jim brings deep institutional knowledge and extensive leadership experience to the acting role. In addition to leading the University’s Administration Branch, he previously served as deputy superintendent for Finance and Operations at Denver Public Schools, with responsibility for finance, facilities, technology and transportation. Under his leadership, the University will continue supporting our faculty, staff and students and advancing our strategic priorities around student success, enrollment growth and budget innovation.
Thank you for the work you do every day to support our students and strengthen this University. I’m grateful for the support of our Board of Trustees in granting me this opportunity to briefly step back, and I look forward to returning ready to continue our important work ahead.
Sincerely,
Janine Davidson, Ph.D.
President, MSU Denver
