CBUS Ambassadors are connecting with future students across Colorado, one conversation at a time

The College of Business is hitting the road in a new and exciting way this semester, launching a new outreach initiative that brings a taste of campus directly to future students: Pizza with Ambassadors.
Designed to create meaningful, low-pressure connections, this initiative sends CBUS Ambassadors into local high schools to share pizza and real conversations about life at MSU Denver and within the College of Business. It’s a chance for prospective students to ask questions, hear firsthand experiences, and start envisioning themselves as future Roadrunners.
This semester we went to Prairie View High School and Riverdale Ridge, where CBUS Ambassadors Renz Axalan, Leslie Gomez, Callie Taylor, and Nathan Allison connected with over 65 students. What started with pizza quickly turned into an engaging and insightful conversation.
Students at both schools asked thoughtful questions about what daily life looks like as a College of Business student, and the CBUS Ambassadors shared their personal experiences balancing coursework, getting involved on campus, and building connections. The conversation also covered opportunities to join clubs and organizations, helping students understand how they can find their community at MSU Denver.
Flexibility was another key topic, with students showing strong interest in the different class modalities MSU Denver offers, including fully online, in-person, and hybrid options. Scholarships and financial support also sparked important questions, opening the door for helpful guidance and resources.
“My students really appreciated the time your students spent with them on March 13. My students recommended that this be an annual event each fall so hopefully we can plan that. Students commented that they liked the personal experiences your students shared and that each of the students who were present were pursuing not just a different degree option but also a different methodology in learning (in person, online, etc).
Thank you for giving us the gift of their time. I look forward to building on this new (renewed) partnership with MSU Denver.”
Pizza with Ambassadors is all about creating approachable, honest conversations that help students feel more confident about their college journey.
And this is just the beginning. With more school visits ahead, CBUS Ambassadors are looking forward to continuing these conversations and expanding their impact across the community.
