Introducing Anuj Mahat, a CISBA student who is also a Fall 2025 CBUS Student Ambassador

Hi I am Anuj, a senior majoring in Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics. Originally from Nepal, I value the diversity and supportive community at MSU Denver. I am passionate about data and analytics, and I hope to pursue a career in business or data analytics after graduation.
What does a typical day look like for you during the semester?
I’m in my senior year right now so I only come to campus on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. I only have one in person and all of my other classes are online. After I go to class, I go to work and do my homework.
What has your journey at MSU Denver been like?
It’s been really good. I came from Nepal, so I was not born here. This college is really diverse and I really like it. I have met a lot of people and friends.
What are you passionate about within business?
I really like business because everything is connected to business. If there is no business, there is nothing. My major is in computer information systems and business analytics, and I’m really proud that I’m part of the College of Business.
What are your future career plans?
Right now I’m thinking something within computer information system and business analytics. So I think I’m going to look for jobs in business analytics or data analytics.
What clubs, organizations, or events have you enjoyed the most at MSU Denver?
I really like the job fair event. It happens every semester in and it is really helpful. All of the people and recruiters, come here and they give us the opportunity to get internships and full time jobs. So, I really like that one. I have already applied for so many jobs, so I hope this time I get a job.
What advice would you give to new business students?
All the business students don’t wait for anything, go out and get it! I also think there are a lot of organizations which will help you such as the writing center and advising systems. All the advisors are really good, so if you need any help, just let them know. They will always help you.
What’s something that you wish you knew before you started college?
I wish I knew about all of the resources that I could use in the college, and how helpful they are. I only found out, like after my sophomore year and I started using it. The Classroom to career hub, will help you find your next job.
What’s your favorite thing about being part of the College of Business at MSU Denver?
My favorite part of CBUS is the community. Everyone is really helpful and encouraging. Being an international student, I never feel like I’m away from my home. This is like my home.
