Have Questions? We have answers.
Contact UsEarlier this Fall, we learned that our center will be transitioning out of our current space in Tivoli 213. We will move over to Tivoli 223, which currently hosts MSU Denver’s Peer Mentoring program. This shift is intended in part, to acknowledge the years of feedback we’ve received about the desire for our space to grow. We look forward to the opportunities this change will bring. This transition also necessitates a few more changes for this school year and beyond:
The LGBTQ Student Resource Center’s last day being physically open in Tivoli 213 will be Friday, November 14th. This closure will give us the necessary time to pack up the office and begin our physical move in early December. Students will still be able to access virtual support from our team during this time. Our annual Transgender Day of Remembrance Soiree will still take place on Thursday, November 20th.
Because of this transition’s timing, coupled with rising operation costs, we will no longer host a Fall Lavender Graduation celebration. Moving forward, we will solely host a Spring Lavender Graduation celebration, allowing all graduates of that calendar year to be recognized. We will still provide opportunities for Fall graduates to pick up a free rainbow stole for Commencement. (More details to come.)
We plan to host a welcome event in our new space in early Spring 2026 and hope you’ll consider joining us! (More details to come.)
We recognize that this may feel like conflicting news for some folks and that’s completely understandable. Know that these decisions were made to ensure the growth and sustainability of the center and enhance our ability to support Auraria students. I want to take a moment and thank my team in the LGBTQ SRC for their commitment, excitement, and patience during this transition. I also want to thank the Office of Enrollment & Student Affairs at MSU Denver for facilitating this opportunity and helping bring our new space to life. Lastly, I want to thank MSU Denver’s Peer Mentoring program, and larger Classroom to Career Hub team for their flexibility, collaboration, and understanding during this change. Questions about MSU Denver’s Peer Mentoring program should be emailed to Nate Tuthill, [email protected]
