Opportunities for Immigrant Students

The application period for the CASFA and FAFSA begins each October. The general scholarship application opens in December. Although there is no strict deadline for completing either form, it is highly recommended that students finish both applications by March 1.

Yes, financial aid options are available to all students, regardless of their immigration status. Depending on their status, some students may qualify for various types of financial aid, including federal, state, institutional, and foundation resources. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with the Immigrant Services Program to explore their financial aid options. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of their financial aid and make a decision by the tuition deadline regarding one of the following options:

• Pay out-of-pocket expenses
• Enroll in a payment plan, or
• Drop classes

Students who do not drop their classes by the deadline may be required to pay their tuition bill, even if they do not attend the classes.
