Cohen Pacesetter Endowment

The Fund exists to establish and support the Cohen Pacesetter Program which financially and academically supports promising University students who are in pursuit of their educational goals.

The Program intends to remove barriers to educational access, create a sense of belonging, and support students to encourage persistence and to complete their degrees. The Program will also facilitate activities that allow students to “pay it forward,” giving back to their university, community, and other students. Scholars will receive financial assistance, support services, programming, and staff assistance tailored to meet their needs and address Program goals.

Each year, the University will host a gathering of Program donors and scholars as well as prospective donors and university leaders. In recognition of the extraordinary contributions of former University President Steve Jordan and his wife Ruthie, and former Athletics Director Joan McDermott, a scholar shall be recognized at the event as the “Jordan Outstanding Leader Scholar” and a second scholar shall be recognized as the “McDermott Exceptional Student Athlete Scholar.”
