Before turning in your final paper, take these steps to ensure your best work: 

Content & Organization
□ My paper fully addresses the assignment requirements
□ My thesis/main argument is clear and specific
□ Each paragraph supports my main argument
□ My introduction engages readers and provides necessary context
□ My conclusion goes beyond just summarizing
□ Transitions between paragraphs are smooth and logical 

Sources & Citations
□ I've cited all required sources
□ All quotes and paraphrases are properly cited
□ My Works Cited/References page is complete and formatted correctly
□ I've checked that all in-text citations match my reference list
□ I've used credible, appropriate sources
□ I've integrated sources smoothly into my own writing 

Editing & Proofreading
□ I've read my paper out loud to catch awkward phrasing
□ I've checked for consistent verb tense
□ I've verified all proper nouns are spelled correctly
□ I've run spell check but also proofread manually
□ I've checked for commonly confused words (their/there/they're, etc.)
□ I've verified all sentences are complete 

Formatting
□ My paper follows the required format (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.)
□ My font, margins, and spacing meet requirements
□ My pages are numbered correctly
□ My name and other required information are in the right place
□ I've included any required headers/footers 

Final Steps
□ I've saved my final version with a clear file name
□ I’ve acknowledged any Generative AI use in a way consistent with my professor’s policy
□ I've created a backup copy
□ I've verified my paper meets the length requirement
□ I've checked the submission method (online portal, email, hard copy)
□ I've confirmed the submission deadline and time zone
