The College of Business hosted their Fall 2025 Outstanding Student Awards, an event held every semester to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication within their programs. During the celebration, faculty members presented the awards to their nominated students and shared remarks highlighting each student’s accomplishments and contributions to the College of Business community.

Meet our Fall 2025 Outstanding Students:

Headshot of Jamie King

Jamie King - Accounting

I’ve really enjoyed my time at MSU Denver. I’ve made some lifelong friends here, and they’ve been a huge part of what made these years so meaningful. I’ve also been able to learn and accomplish way more than I expected, and a lot of that is because I had such amazing professors who truly care about helping their students succeed.

After graduation, my goal is to continue working in public accounting. I was offered a position as a tax accountant in August, and I have been working in that role while completing my degree.”

Carl Sanford - Business Administration

“My time at MSU Denver has exceeded my expectations. I set out to complete a degree after a very long break, but I got so much more than just a degree. I received an education both inside and outside the classroom, met a community of supportive faculty and students, and learned quite a bit about myself along the way. Special shoutout goes to my fellow MSU Denver Construction and Real Estate Club officers for their work and dedication to the club and its events!

I don’t have anything solid lined up yet but am exploring new opportunities related to my degree. I also plan to enter graduate school in the near future.”

Krysta Marino

Krysta Marino - Business Intelligence

“I am excited that graduation day has come as it has been a long road to get to where I am today. I want to thank my friends and family for all of their support and encouragement during the last fours years.

My plans after graduation is to continue my education with a Master of Business Administration and a focus of data analytics. I am currently enrolled and registered to start in the spring of 2026.”

Kathleen White - Computer Information Systems

Kathleen White
Cindy Gomez

Cindy Gomez - Economics

“Graduating has always been the driving force behind my work and my life. My parents have worked incredibly hard to give me the opportunities I have today, and their support has meant everything to me. My experience at MSU Denver began as very relaxed and understated, but as I made friends and built meaningful relationships, it truly transformed my college journey. Those connections changed my life and made the entire experience something I’ll always be grateful for.

I’m currently working as a Process Assistant at Amazon, and I’m hoping to grow into an Area Manager role next. From there, I’d love to keep finding opportunities where I can use what I’ve learned in economics, whether that’s in operations or helping improve different processes. I’m not exactly sure where I’ll end up yet, but I’m excited to keep learning and moving forward.”

Shawn Mantey - Finance

“I am extremely happy to be graduating from MSU Denver. All of the hard work and dedication I have put into maintaining my grades while playing college soccer has finally paid off. It feels like the perfect end to a life dedicated to education and I can finally move on to the corporate world.

Hoping to find a job in Finance and start my career as soon as possible.”

Shawn Mantey
Nour Itani

Nour Itani - Global Business Studies

“My experience here has been incredible. I started out not knowing what I wanted to do with my life or if I belonged in Denver after moving here a year before enrolling in MSU Denver, and I’m a completely different person now. Having a work-study job for the Marketing Department the past four years with Michael Zastrow and an internship for the CBUS Marketing Coordinator Lindsey Wadle for the past year, has made all the difference in my life. Both of these people, along with most of the CBUS faculty and staff have always been kind to me, appreciating my work, expanding my outlook, and providing me with any sort of help I needed in all areas of my life, professional and personal. I’ve always felt so proud to work with everyone here, it’s been a pleasure growing with them, learning from all their experience and wisdom, as well as gaining life-long friendships.

My plans after graduating look a bit hazy but I do have two job positions open for me both for January and June with the company I interned for this past summer, Lockton. However, I plan on taking a break after graduation to see what career path calls to me the most.”

Alyssa Clarke - Human Resource Management

“In the last 48 hours, between job offers and graduate school acceptances, I realized something bigger than any achievement: I can be a leader. This means a lot because one of the first things I told Chris Stewart was that I never wanted to be a leader. Somewhere along the way, through growth and resilience, I became the kind of leader I once did not believe I could be.

I have many options at the moment. Internship turning into a job, and grad schools. Going to try and finish the semester and study for my SHRM before I make any decisions.”

Alyssa Clarke
Tyler Bernstein

Tyler Bernstein - International Business

“International Business with Debbie in Sophomore year and Global Business in Senior year with Gina were my favorite classes by far. Both of those amazing ladies genuinely love educating and connecting with students an a way I haven’t seen or felt before. From the team projects to the classroom banter, these women are absolute masters of their craft.

I completed my degree in the summer term and am working full time at a men’s clothing shop. I specialize in custom garments and personal service. In June I hope to join an accelerated 2-year banker development program and move into the financial services industry.”

Arianna Haman - Management

Rowdy Headshot
Rylie Bardon

Rylie Barden - Marketing

“I am deeply grateful for the support of CBUS and the opportunities it has presented me with. As a transfer student from a large university where I felt out of place, I found my home at MSU. I consider myself one of MSU CBUS’s biggest cheerleaders and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Go Roadrunners!

I’m not totally sure what’s next after graduation, but I’m excited to find out! Right now, I work part-time at a marketing agency, and I’m hoping that turns into something bigger once I graduate. My ultimate dream is to work in sports marketing, and hopefully one day I’ll get to do just that!”

Louise Hosking - Operations Management

“Shout-out to the late MSU Denver Tennis team, they were the reason I came to MSU! Having a team to come to made the transition to MSU very smooth! More than ready to graduate, put what I’ve learned to work, and gain some real-world experience.

I don’t have a specific job lined up yet. After graduation, I plan to build my career in operations within the tech industry, where I can use my skills in analytics, process improvement, and collaboration. My long-term goal is to grow into a role where I help organizations run smarter and more efficiently.”

Louise Hosking
Nicholas Fields

Nicholas Fields - Master of Business Administration (MBA)

“I decided to return for my MBA after enjoying my undergraduate experience at MSU Denver nearly 25 years ago. My classes have been very insightful, and I expect to use a lot of it for my leadership role in my company. That said, having a full-time class schedule, a full-time job, and a full-time family has me exhausted and I’m ready to be done!

I’m currently employed and was promoted this year into the role I’ve been working toward for many years, so mostly I plan to take some time off, enjoy family and the holidays, and look forward to 2026. I ran my first 5K just before starting this program, so I plan to train for another one now that I’m finishing up.”

Vanessa Minnard - Master in Professional Accountancy (MPAcc)

“It feels incredible, although a little unreal, to actually be graduating. It has been an immensely challenging couple of years for my family and I am so grateful to my husband and son for their relentless support. I would not be the successful, driven person I am today without them.

I am fortunate to have recently landed a staff accountant position with Ares Wealth Management, a phenomenal company I look forward to growing with for several years to come.”
