Rey Hernández-Julián (he/him/his, PhD in Economics, Clemson University, 2005) is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Interim Associate Dean in the College of Business. He teaches courses that apply quantitative tools in economics—including Forecasting and Econometrics,—as well as field courses such as Labor Economics and the Economics of Risky Behaviors, and Principles of Microeconomics.His peer-reviewed research spans topics in the economics of education, religion, demography, and health. His current interests include grade inflation, the relationship between politics and student performance, and experimental classroom interventions aimed at identifying what helps students succeed.Dr. Hernández-Julián has served as a referee for multiple academic journals and as an arbitrator for FINRA.
