Research Interests
I have a grounded approach to sculpture that examines local concerns surrounding historical contexts, and provides a platform for counter-narratives. My research often focuses on the areas of feminism, environmental sustainability, as well as honoring the past; and is manifested through installation art and performance art.
Teaching Interests
Through teaching I emphasize divergent thinking and encourage a different perspective on failure - one that rewards the search and generation of questions-worth-asking. I embrace new media, and with it, aim to fold traditional materials (such as wood, steel and plaster) and aesthetic values (such as scale, harmony, and duration) into newfangled zones. I often foster collaborations as opportunities to collapse boundaries and remind us of our interconnectedness.
