Research Interests

Dr. Jones' scholarship and professional development for classroom teachers and administrators relates to support for planning effective early literacy experiences, environments, culturally responsive instruction and formative authentic early literacy assessment of young children with language and literacy differences.

Teaching Interests

Foundational experiences with reading and writing can determine whether a child transitions easily, successfully, and with confidence into formal literacy instruction and adjusts to the requirements of more formal schooling. As early childhood education and care providers, our goal is to intentionally help all children become those children for whom reading and writing comes easily.
