Social Work

Bio

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1985, and over time have practiced social work in a wide variety of professional settings, treating ethnically diverse individuals ,groups and families. I have practiced family therapy with at-risk parents treating attachment disorders in order to reduce the incidence of child abuse and neglect. I have been teaching in the Social Work Department at MSU Denver since 2011, and have so appreciated the opportunity to bring real world examples of social work practice into the classroom. In 2012, I was named Social Worker of the Year for Boulder County by NASW, in 2014 I was recognized as Affiliate Faculty of the Year, and in Spring 2018 and again in Spring 2020 I was recognized as the MSW Faculty of the Year within the Department of Social Work, four honors that were very meaningful to me. Teaching in the Department of Social Work at MSU Denver, and guiding young professionals as they move into their professional social work careers has been the most rewarding experience of my career.
