Kenneth Phillips

Bio

Kenneth R. Phillips is the Department Chair for the Industrial Design Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Prior to assuming the Chair position in 2006, Ken had been the primary Design for Production, Furniture Design, and Woodworking faculty person in the program for many years. Ken is one of the developers of Brand Spankin’ New (BSN) the student centered business that ran out of the Industrial Design and Marketing departments and the MSU Denver Center for Innovation. Professor Phillips holds a BA and MA in anthropology from the University of Northern Colorado. He also has a BS in Industrial Technology from MSU Denver and an MS in Manufacturing Technology from Colorado State University. Mr. Phillips has served on the full time faculty at MSU Denver for fifteen years after many years as an affiliate faculty while running his design/build furniture business. Ken has over twenty-five years of experience as a furniture and cabinetry designer/maker.
