My teaching, research and practice interests span the substantive areas of gerontology, contemporary families, diversity and social inequalities, sexual orientation, gender, intergenerational family relationships and social work practice.

Research Interests

My research examines how age, generation and cohort shape how individuals recognize themselves as having sexual minority identities and how these identities affect their family life.

Teaching Interests

My teaching interests include social work practice, diversity, advanced clinical practice with older adults, GLBT issues, international social work, group dynamics, aging and gerontological services, qualitative research and women’s issues.
