JOOEUN PAK has appeared in major concert venues in the U.S., Korea, Italy, Jordan, and Germany including Carnegie Hall, NY, Kennedy Center in D. C., Ravinia IL, Al Hussein Cultural Center in Jordan, Theatre Vipiteno in Sterzing and was recently featured in Chicago radio station WFMT.
Being a winner of a number of national and international competitions, Pak appears in concerts with winners of the renowned international competitions, including the Metropolitan National Council Audition, and the Tchaikovsky International Competition. She formerly worked as a collaborative pianist in Ravinia Steans Music Institute, Atlantic Music Festival and Indiana University String Academy. Pak is also a passionate advocate of creative interdisciplinary projects while actively commissioning and giving world premiers of compositions of our time. Upon winning the Grand Prize in the Latin American Music Competition, Pak released a CD featuring compositions by Latin American contemporary composers including Gabriela Lena Frank and Miguel del Aguila.
Pak was formerly a full-time lecturer in piano in Towson Univ., Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano in the Univ. of Puget Sound, Associate Instructor in Indiana Univ., Jacobs School of Music, Performing Artist and Faculty in Orfeo Music Festival, and a Music Faculty in American Academy of Jordan Summer Music Festival. Pak has given master classes nationally and internationally, appearing in National Conservatory of Music in Amman, Stetson University, Western Connecticut State University and Biola University Conservatory of Music this season.
Pak received DM in Piano Performance and Literature with minors in theory and chamber music under the mentorship of Manahem Pressler, a founder of the renowned Beaux Art Trio, to whom she also served as a teaching assistant. Pak’s study was supported by IU Jacobs School of Music Doctoral Fellowship, which was awarded for academic and performance excellence.
